At the Chincoteague Wildlife Reserve Thursday night. Telephoto'd in on the egret catching fish when suddenly there's all this serious squawking and gibbering and flapping! Scared the mess out of me! The heron swoops in, aims for the egret, and runs the poor guy off! Soon as I realized my OWN a$$ wasn't in jeopardy, I shot off a bunch of clicks fast as I could. No time for focusing or composing, that's the truth! And this is the one I got. This was the only one with both of them in it. Can't say I'm displeased.
