The words "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" - while by no means an official creed or motto of the United States Postal Service - have long been associated with the American postman. The motto is inscribed on New York's James Farley Post Office, but it has no official status.... (Wikipedia)
Not sure what the official count is, but looks like we have 6, 7, 8 inches, somewhere in there, here at the grandbabies' house. Made it here yesterday before the roads got bad. 8 hour trip in about 7 hours. Don't know how dh did it, but he did, driving that big ol' honkin' 4-wheel drive truck of his! The teenager is still home, alone, bracing the storm up there. He'll probably get more snow than down here plus nasty wind on top of it. Ugh!
The babies were completely in awe of it when they woke up this morning! Loved looking out the window and waving at the snow, talking it up a mile a minute in that crazy jibber jabber they do. We bundled them up and took them out, even convincing them to wear their hats, and what a blast! The little he-man was all about running (trudging!) and falling and face-planting and laughing and tasting ... but the little princess just about woke the hibernating bears up with her scream when we put her down in it!! Haha! NOPE!!! She loved it from afar, that's it!
Dh and I braved this snowy trip for the babies' 2nd birthday party tomorrow. Can't miss that! Nana's been fretting about the weather all week long while Gradda kept sending her weather updates and snowfall predictions every day. Ugh!!! I swear, the older I get, the more I fret. Hate that! Anyway, got everything all packed up Thursday night so we could leave as soon as dh got off work before lunch yesterday. I was so careful to remember everything, EVERYTHING, we needed for the snowy, snowed-in weekend, EVERYTHING. But I neglected to check inside my camera bag to make sure my camera was actually IN the camera bag .... AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!
well, the i-phone is probably more convenient with two babies on your hands! (and has a great camera). Loved hearing how differently they took to the snow.

Great to read your words. Hope you can get out again though!
