The morning routine

Every morning, day in, day out, the same thing, over and over and over again and again and again....

Any of you ladies who can just get out of the shower, run a brush through your hair, and go .... sorry, but we can no longer be friends. :-)

First world problems, right? I know. I actually gave up doing my hair for Lent one year. It was a God-directed thing after yet another morning of frustration, anger, and bad words. It was the first Saturday of that particular Lent, and I already had an appointment to get my hair cut that day. My hairdresser nearly had a cow. But she worked her usual magic that day, and I made it through Lent without styling my hair, and it was liberating and rejuvenating. And don't you know, I've never been able to do it again. My hair has never been passable since then. But for that season, God made me turn my attention away from this thin, baby-fine crown of auburn glory He gave me and let go of the obsession for perfection. Yes, I still fix it every morning, but not with the same agonizing drive as before. Freedom!
@alophoto Here it is! Morning. My EVERY morning ... :-)

Never been any good styling my hair. Thank goodness for a little natural wave. Good still life.

Sam
I have crazy curly hair that looks different one minute to the next!!! I've never been able to style it so I just let it do what it wants to do naturally :)

Great shot...I can totally relate to your hair challenge. For me, the key is not to texturize it and my hair stylist actually listens to me :).

I'm the one that runs out of the shower...

We are partnered this week. I read you also got a new lens, the nifty fifty. So let's go for wide aperture, shallow depth of field. How about a child's portrait (I think you see your grandchildren on a regular basis? If not an adult will do 😊) capturing joy, shot at a very wide aperture, making sure the eyes if featured are in focus. Good luck!

@overalvandaan You picked up on my biggest challenge! Thank you for getting that! I think I'll see the babies next weekend, so this should work. If not, there are animals around... :-)

Hihi, yes, animals will do if the grandchildren don't cooperate (as I know what those little sweet monsters are like).

@overalvandaan Hopefully I'll be with the little people this weekend!
