We went to Darlington auction today. It was a dispersal sale of a farm that our daughter vets at. It was a sad day for the farmer seeing all his stock sold. He is actually retiring. This is a Limousin breed. We did not buy this one but did manage to buy 2 in calf cows with calves with them and 1 in calf cow without a calf.
We had a farm sale of all our cattle six years ago....it was a very emotional day as Harry felt he had been forced into retirement when our son emigrated but my word he is so glad he's not milking cows now. Ours were sold at Beeston. Beautiful capture of mum & baby. Hope they made a good price.
Yes let's hope they found a good home. your lifestyle is so different us city dwellers. would love to switch for a short time to experience everything you do. great picture of the cow and her calf.
