Today was a rather dull day with a haze hanging over everything. We had a ride through the Lyth Valley which is known for it's Damson trees. Although the autumn colours were there and the view lovely to look at because of the haze none of my pictures have come out well. This shot is taken at Bowness and is one of the steamers which run up and down the lake.
When we were at Lake Windemere many years ago, we were surprised by the "haze" (we expected it to be lovely and clear) and we asked one of the locals why there was so much smog around and were told in no uncertain terms it was not smog but "haze."
Very peaceful capture particularly with the many shades of green. It was mentioned on Countryfile on Sunday that there are a lot more than 40 shades of green, more like 40,000!
Lovely peaceful scene. Even though it's a dull day the autumn colours really show up. I've been here once, years ago, but really enjoyed my time staying in Bowness.
