Saltburn-by-the-sea

These shots are of the little funicular tramway that transports people up and down the very steep cliff in Saltburn-by-the-sea. The top right picture is of the area that the trams are controlled from. It does not sow up very well but between the man and the chair, through the window there is the shut that is putting water into the car on the right to counterbalance the one at the bottom. The bottom left picture is of the beautiful stained glass windows which are on either side of the passenger cars.

I've heard of a funicular tramway transport. can't remember where it was though. the stained glass windows are gorgeous and I love your presentation of the collage. I just had a ride in a cable car in Santorini, Greece. up by bus, down by cable car or another choice was horseback. I took the lesser evil. most the time I had my eyes closed.

Fabulous collage and so good to see it still operational.
I remember going on the funicular railway at Scarborough while visiting my Nanna when I was a child.

@gijsje @maggiemae @bruni @roachling @flowerfairyann @onewing @tonydebont @gaylewood @beachdog Thank you all for your comments. Saltburn-by-the-sea is a lovely place to visit with a lovely beach. You have to get there very early to park though because it gets quite busy. The chap at the top of the tramway was very friendly and happy to talk and tell you all about it.
