The ET whose initials are above this door is my husbands Great, Great, Grandfather. Although it states the house was rebuilt in 1820 it isn't actually on the same footprint of the original house. It is partly on the site of the old house which is to the left of this house. There had been a fire in the old house and this one was built using some of the features such as the stone mullion windows from the old house. I have no idea how old this door is but it certainly been here for a very long time.
Such beautiful golden stone work Shirley, it glows in the sun & a lovely old door. Like our doors it's wide & low...short fat blokes in those days! A stunning home.
