I started a fire in the pellet stove and as I looked through the glass door I could see a shower of sparks every time pellets dropped into the fire pot.

Pellet stoves have been around for sometime, thought they have evolved from the early days. They put out a nice warm fire burning pellets that are made from compressed saw dust. So you are burning wood byproducts that normally would have been discarded. Originally pellets looked like peanuts now they look like fat pretzel sticks.
