We enjoyed having our oldest granddaughter spend Christmas with us. It is always difficult to say goodbye. We must rely on memories to carry us through!
@maggiemae - We are glad that she made the trip and for the non-snowy weather this year, but we do worry about her making the 1006 miles (1619 km) round trip by herself.
Hello, Skip! Happy New Year to you and yours. Must be such a wrench saying goodbye after the family visits but what a lovely photo to look at and remember.
What a beautiful photo of the happy (and fortunate) Grandparents and their beautiful grand daughter! She's gone home with happy and loving memories, and what nicer Christmas gift is there to have given her?!
@Weezilou - It is hard to believe that a year has passed since his was taken. She was talking about coming here for Christmas this year as well, but she changed her mind and flew to Florida to spend Christmas with her mother and siblings.
I'm clearly "out of the loop", but took this for having just said your good-bye! It's so hard not to be with the grandkids a great deal more. We see two of them frequently the 6 months we're in CA, but the others have moved to MA and we're not sure when it's going to be convenient to see them...which of course can't be soon enough!

@danette - Thank you Danette! It never gets any easier! It's hard to say, "goodbye" and then worry about her making the 8 hour trip on her own.
@amandal - Thank you Amanda!
