Went out by the lake today. Last year at this time there was an unbelievable amount of shoreline exposed for exploring because of the drought like conditions. But with all the rain we've had this year, there is very little shoreline which the boaters and skiers love. But I did spot a number of these near the parking lot.

It makes you wonder why they grow where they grow? There seems to be nothing special about the ground our area where they are growing.

@lynnb - These are rare to some degree. While you do come across them from time to time, you don't see many of them. I love their deep red!
