My wife and daughter went on a shopping trip so I had the chance to get my granddaughter after school and take her out for dinner. She chose to go to a drive-thru and take it to the park. After enjoying dinner, she slid on the slide and and climbed on just about everything she could climb on! It was a wonder time!
@maggiemae - Yes we did. Much of our parenting skills were learned by the way we saw our how our parents raised us along with a smidgen of how we saw our friends parents interacting with them. I only wish some of the "helps" that are available today were around when I was raising my daughters. The one thing I wish I could do over is that I didn't take my daughters on "dates", which I believe is a relatively new concept, like ten years ago, to teach them how they should expect to be treated by the opposite sex.
