My wife's coneflowers are doing wonderfully this year. Last year something kept eating the flower buds to the point that I needed to install a fence around them to protect them. Not sure if it was rabbits, deer, or groundhogs. These are a gift from our eldest daughter. I positioned myself until the sun hit the lens to create a little bit of a flare.
What pretty flowers! This is the first time Ive seen these - they're unusual in their appearance in that they look like a mixture of thistle and daisies with their petals going southwards. Very nice - I like them. Lovely photo, I like the flare.
Very pretty- if you have deer they like them too. I had a patch given to me by a friend, but the deer stripped them twice (even after spraying) and they never came back. Glad you have the fence to protect these lovelies!
@olivetreeann - Whatever was eating them was last year. This year so far nothing has bothered them. We tried different sprays but it didn't deter them. Hence the fence was put up. It took weeks before they recovered.
