We have been experiencing a very mild winter thus far thanks to El Nino. I am not complaining a bit. But some arctic air is spilling down out of Canada and temperatures are plummeting into single digits with some lake effect snow off of Lake Erie. I had hoped to capture the snow falling, but instead it looks more like fog.
El Niño is also causing havoc with us down south. Heatwave conditions and drought. Hopefully soon things can settle and some normality to the weather will return! Nice winter scene though.
I like the editing here of this winter scene, its making me feel cold. We have been having strange weather here, last week we recorded a temperature of 14C the lowest in January since records began but the day before had been in the high 30's and also lots of rain and storms.
@mittens - We watched KDKA after the game last night and saw they were predicting that you might get some. We ended up getting less they they said we could get! That's a good thing!
I agree with the others...the blue tones of this image add to the cold feel. So pretty! We got less than 1/2" here just east of Pittsburgh last night. Even though it's just a dusting, it sure looks beautiful out there; and the birdfeeders are very busy, which is always a treat! :-)
@louhi - I know many of the ski resorts we pretty upset because not only were we not getting any snow, but it wasn't even cold enough for them to make snow. And now they can!
I was really enjoying that mild winter- but we're hitting the 10 degree mark tonight. The cold is here- and I think this time it's going to stay. Good shot!
