@lynnz@gilbertwood - They are everywhere. They love to burrow particularly in embankments but also on flat ground. We see them often along roadways grazing on vegetation. Since many rural roads in Pennsylvania have ditches on the sides the groundhog may burrow into the side of the ditch. That's why it is not unusual to see them near or even dead along country roads.
( there are n`t many flowerfields . I surch for them and often has to drive an hour beforeI find one)
