The rain returned today. I noticed our neighbor's front yard was loaded with cat's ears. (Dandelion like plants) I attempted numerous shots to get an effect, but none were to my liking. While shooting the cat's ears this Amish buggy went by and I took advantage of the opportunity.
I see shots like this and think it must be so calming to watch them go by- but then I'm not a motorist who has to deal with them on a regular basis. Good shot!
Whenever I see or hear something about the Amish I'm reminded that the Bible tells us that "The meek shall inherit the earth." - unsettling when you consider that primitive tribes, third-world peasant communities... and the Amish are all better equipped to live in a post-armageddon world than most of the rest of us. I like this thought provoking image.
@vignouse - Excellent point! I just read yesterday about the threat of North Korea taking down the power grid in the USA and how that would cause total chaos. But as you say, the Amish and those who don't depend on electricity would be less affected!
For the most part, they are gentle and forgiving people. We could learn a lot from them!
We drove across America 10 years ago. We did see these carriages go by back east. In North or South Carolina I think it was. Was really interesting to see. An excellent capture you've got here Skip.
