Just a hint of the Milky Way above the Marlborough Downs in Wiltshire on a cold December evening.
Ultimately didn't get this quite right - still quite a novice at star shots - this needed more exposure time and possibly a higher ISO. Still, gives me an excuse to get out and have another go!
@snaggy Love it....I would say your settings seem about right to me. Looks like fairly low light pollution there too. There is so much I have learned about these milky way shots recently though that I didn't know. I am planning a trip to Wales now later next year about August - Sept when the best part of the rift will be visible to us here in the UK. .. I am well and truly hooked! Lol.... thos totally deserves a fav... great job :-)
@aecasey@caroleb@allisonraposa@zoomjoyce Thanks all. @shepherdmanswife Have checked and I seem to be following - it may be the server hasn't updated all the settings yet. Give me a shout if it's not showing correctly in the nexy couple of days. @gazbadger it's ok, but I'm sure it could be so much better. There are some truly amazing Milky Way shots out there, and whilst I think we will always struggle a bit in the UK with light pollution (although my 'home' county of Northumberland has an International Gold Tier Dark Sky Park award) I'm sure we can get some clearer MW shots. Might join you in Wales in the Summer!
Thanks for the follow but you are not showing as a follower. Perhaps you need to press the tab again?
Really is beautiful!

See you there mate, love this shot, cracking!
(And if there's a spare space in August...)
