After arriving at Grand Central and checking out the Pan Am and Chrysler buildings, I walked 14 blocks south on Park Avenue through Midtown to meet my son at his office. I spotted this interesting street scene on my walk - a restored, antique Triumph Bonneville parked by itself on Park Avenue. Never a dull moment in NYC! You can also see in this image that every building on Park Avenue faces each other except for one - the Pan Am building, which faces North/South, making it a truly iconic skyscraper.
I apologize in advance if I am not on here much today but I have been fighting this stomach virus that is rapidly spreading around the world and it has really knocked me out. Heading back to bed now!
Nice shot, Danny. At first sight I thought this must be somewhere in London - until I saw the yellow cab and read you caption, which raised another important difference - that London was not planned, but just grew, and it is rare for whole blocks of buildings to face each other squarely.
Hope your tummy bug goes away soon; it can be very debilitating.
This is a lovely shot... and I like seeing this angle after your shot from a day or two go... It really goes to show how massive that building is!!! (We just don't have building like that in South Africa... or at least not in the city in which I live!!!)
Sorry that you're unwell... hope you're well again soon!!! :)
