The AC Cobra, sold as the Ford/Shelby AC Cobra in the USA and often known colloquially as the Shelby Cobra, is an American-engined, British sports car produced intermittently since 1962. Cobras have become so incredibly valuable that they are rarely driven anymore, which has given rise to a large number of replicas.
This stunning 427 Cobra replica is for sale. I didn't meet the owner but my guess would be in the range of $40 - $50k. It is very "blinged out" and would be the perfect Christmas present (at least, it would be for me!)
@fueast Alison, it's much more of a pipe dream than a hint. I don't expect to get anything for Christmas this year (except maybe a lump of coal). I usually buy myself a camera or lens for Christmas. I've given some serious thought to picking up a Nikon V1 as they are on fire sale pricing - but haven't done it yet.
@soboy5 My daughter wanted the Nikon 1 J1. I didn't get it for her - she might get it for herself. She loves to travel and it would be easier for her to travel with. Why are you choosing the Nikon V1? (I have not done any research.)
@soboy5 No lump of coal :( for you.....
BUT it did make me smile just a little because I too had a little run in that leads me to believe I will recieve a lump of coal also. Hope things get better.
@x1nij I have not made up my mind yet but I would like a mirrorless camera that has equal IQ to my DSLR. The V1 was $900 and is now $300. Fire sale price, and it is a better camera than the J1. But I also like the Sony RX100 which uses a better sensor and is tiny, but it is $650 and that is too much for me to spend on a fourth digital camera right now. So I am on the fence about the whole thing. RIght now, when I need good IQ and small, I take my Panasonic LX-3, a really nice compact.
@x1nij Yep, I may very well get it. Now they are offering a kit with the V1, the 10-30 and the 30-110 lenses for $399 - original price for that kit was $1150! I am seriously thinking about pulling the plug on that kit and buying it.
@soboy5 --- What are you waiting FOR - Get to the STORE --- I am ready to see some GREAT Motorcycle Shots with your new V1!!!!!
That sounds like a GREAT Christmas to Me.
I love the AC Cobra. It is one of my top 3 "wantss" as far as cars go after the Austin Healey and an E Type. I think I will get myself an AH for my 50th!!! I look upon it as an investment of course!
@simon0128 I knew you would like this one, Simon - and thanks so much for the nice comments and for the fav! @seanoneill Go for it, Sean - you only live once! @joreasonable Thank you, Jo! @danette Many thanks, Danette! @peadar Thanks, Peter! @rwhite Thank you, Rosie! @cmc1200 They are cool, no doubt about that, Caryn! @jackie8 Thanks, Jackie - I think we are going to have a cease-fire for Christmas, but I expect this is only the calm before the storm. I am going over there tomorrow evening. Armed with wine, flowers, champagne and presents - but I really need to wave a white flag, too! @x1nij No, I am still thinking about it. Some reviews are really bad. @groovygirlrn I've missed you, Sheri - welcome back! And thanks! @vickisfotos Thanks, Vicki!
Nice shot!
