Here is a closeup of one of the Superbird's rear wing struts, with the wonderful Road Runner cartoon decal that came standard. The rear wing stands approximately five feet tall, making it the highest wing ever placed on a production automobile. It created necessary downforce, keeping the rear wheels on the ground at speeds in excess of 200 mph on NASCAR racetracks.
It's fun to see so many details of these different muscle cars. I'd never really paid that much attention but now see why these cars are such a prize to have and restore.
