So one thing I was thinking about today was something Michael Freeman wrote in The Complete Guide to Black and White Digital Photography. He pointed out that one thing about black and white is that it's obviously isn't an exact replica of reality, because reality isn't in black and white. What it is, is an interpretation of reality. So I started to think about what it is that I'm trying to depict in my photography. I was thinking about two of my pictures. Electric Hill http://365project.org/stephomy/365/2014-01-04 and Dinosaurs in The Fog http://365project.org/stephomy/365/2013-11-24 In both of those, I couldn't escape the man made features to get a completely natural shot, so rather than lamenting about those things I decided to make them part of the subject of my pictures. Today when I was walking around I was thinking about how I'm in such an urban area and there are wires, buildings, and structures all around me, and that I should bring those together with nature for my subjects. Here's where I posted some of other pictures I took today with that in mind to go with the one above: http://cremebutter.blogspot.com/2014/02/black-and-white.html
