Today's Work

The last chapter I read for the bw-book club was Black & White As a Normality. It kind of inspired me to take black & white pictures of all the stuff I made at work today and put it together in a collage. I'm not that experienced with doing collages, and am not exactly happy with the way the two lower left images look together...

From top left going clockwise: NY cheesecake topped with chocolate ganache; tart dough being formed into mini tarts; finished blueberry frangepane tarts; raspberry cheesecake bites; lemon cheesecake bites; chocolate decadence bites topped with butter cream and dipped in chocolate.
Looks delicious.

Oh, my!! @Taffy , it's a good thing we don't live in Seattle. We'd be hanging out at Stephomy's bakery! Reading the description, I thought, "Oh, that would be my choice. No, this one. Oh, you mean cheesecake bites?" Then you went on and ended with the Pièce de résistance. I like your individual photos and your cake photography has gotten better and better! I see what you mean about the collage. Perhaps if you had used something that puts borders around each picture to separate them more, it might have show the distinctiveness of each one? A thin black line, perhaps?

This looks fabulous! Each individual shot is excellent, with strong DoF and elegance. i think @jyokota hit the nail on the head, so to speak. I think you need a thin border around each individual shot. Picmonkey also has a framing option that I used in my shot of the pagoda yesterday, in my overflow album. I think with the border on the individual and an elegant frame overall, this would move into the 'hang on the wall art' category easily!

@taffy Maybe so. So far I've only used Gimp to edit my photos, and am just doing that by ear. I did a photoshop class maybe ten years ago, so I have a vague idea of what I'm doing, but not really. I might check out Picmonkey.
