Shadows and Sunshine

I was amazed at the amount of light that could sneak in when the blinds were drawn tightly closed.
This is a great way to describe the light in the morning up here, too! Not easy to sleep in when the sun comes up so early...good idea for a photo!

Took a picture of the harbour last week, and it looks like the Bluenose II is out of commission for awhile. We're acquaintances of Don Barr, the former captain of the Bluenose, and he says the ship is going to be refurbished over the next 3 years. It's going to take that time to keep it really seaworthy for years to come. If I have this correct, they'll "take it down by about 2/3", but leave enough of it original to call it the same ship. I guess I'll have to walk the plank if I'm incorrect on this one, but I think that's close... Also, FYI, I went down by the Trawler (now Foodland) this afternoon, and Theodore Tugboat (from Halifax) is in drydock down there. I got some pictures for my blog... http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/ I suppose, too, if you find my waterfront pictures one of the first days we were back (after the 13th), you'll see the Bluenose II not looking quite its spectacular self...

And if you've walked through the neighborhood, you'll recognize several neighborhood pictures I took today... My picture for tomorrow is the carriage ride that goes past our house... Probably need to get to that so I['m not up the rest of the night!
