No explanation needed. My favorite part is the joy on his kid's face as he's peeking through the poles, oblivious to his dad's ignorance. Well, that and the giant panda in the foreground.
My guess was that - another modern phenomenon - Dad has just taken a photo on his phone and he's checking it out. Could be he's watching cat video, though.
Good spot, and I like the panda too!
Lovely candid capture Ron, I'm with Peter hes checking the shot on his phone before posting it on the web (Did you know 97% of all images posted on the net are taken on mobiles or tablets;)
@pcoulson I never considered the fact that he might have been doing the picture thing himself. You Peters are probably right. I'm just so used to so many of the people I associate with who seem to be unable to go more than 30 seconds without checking their phone, I guess I just jumped to conclusions. That's a fascinating fact, Peter - 97%! And I'll bet 90% of those are selfies too, right?
Spot on with that one, Ron! I have a friend with an annual pass to D-land and she says it makes her crazy to see how many people, with kids in tow, are on their cell phones! From the outset I never wanted one, and anymore, it more of a statement that I wouldn't have one! (Easy to say, not being in business, I suppose, but I DO NOT need to be in constant contact with anyone!) Only today I got a note from a woman I met this spring who is still commenting on the fact that I don't have a cell phone and she can hardly believe it. What I didn't write back was that I was appalled by how much she was on her cell phone when it hardly seemed necessary! OK...step off the soap box, Louise... (Who needs a cell phone when one can talk to herself?)
