Spent the day at the Huntington Botanical Gardens near Pasadena. The Chinese garden here is one of the more popular places for photographers - for obvious reasons. It's early in the season so the trees are not quite in bloom as they would be in summer. But the light is also more accommodating than later in the year, so you gain a little here, lose a little there. Overall I'm OK with minimal leaves in this case.
To block the view of that bridge would be a travesty! I think you got a wonderful "early season" photo! It would be nice to come here again in the summer and do a comparison shot. This is a beauty...
Imagine my surprise when I uploaded the same bridge this morning! I like your view with the pagoda in the background. I'm returning sometime in spring after the blooms come back because I know how beautiful it can look. Great shot Ron!
@Weezilou Thanks, Louise. I think you might just have given me an idea. Actually the time to be here is when those trees start to bloom. Lots of cherry blossoms there. Ready to go?
@pcoulson Thanks, Peter, it's pretty hard to take a bad picture here - such natural beauty. Did I say it's hard to take a bad shot? I take it back - plenty of crappy shots on my memory card from this visit....but a few winners too. :-)
@joysfocus Wow, what a coincidence! I agree about the need for a return trip - nothing like it during cherry blossom time! Maybe another 365 group visit soon?
@lyndemc Yes, as you know, winter can be pretty brutal back in your old stomping grounds. ;-) A photographers paradise is quite accurate! These grounds are absolutely amazing for anyone with a camera - and there are plenty of them out and about.
@joysfocus@stray_shooter I'd love to return there again...my girls were still in grade school the last time I went! I'll leave it to you two to pick a day, and Joy already said Saturday is best for her. You're a fun group! Looking forward to it!
