Snowman's Broken Smile by stray_shooter

Snowman's Broken Smile

Christmas goodies, oddly symbolic. The joyous Christmas season can also be a lonely and sad time for many. I hope you are fortunate enough to be able to spend this time with friends and/or family. Merry Christmas.
The comfort of enjoyable company is a real gift, that's for sure. I am definitely fortunate in having some of my family with me this holiday weekend and the perk of electronics to keep me in touch with those that can't be here for the festivities. But my heart goes out to those whose smiles are broken on Christmas Day. I hope yours isn't. (And you're right, a workout is so going to be necessary following the weekend 'cause I've eaten several of the cookies featured in my picture.)

We are so fortunate to have family to enjoy at any time of year and especially during the Holidays. I can't help but feel for all those who are less fortunate. Ron, John and I are wishing you a wonderful and Merry Christmas and looking forward to more photo shoots with you and the gang in '16.

@lyndemc Thank you for that warm response, Denise. No, my smile isn't broken - I am also among the very fortunate who have loving friends to spend the holidays with, but I can identify those who are not so fortunate. And shortly after this, I wolfed down this very subject - it was an act of kindness IMO.

@terryliv Don't tell me that the Poppo's had broken smiles this Christmas! I hope this greeting from the other side of the world brings you a small bit of holiday happy. Merry Christmas to you (although I guess that was yesteday for you as I write this.)

@summerfield I may have done it inadvertently, Vikki. Idiot driver in front of me, apparently not aware of where the airport was (the big things with wings were evidently not enough of a clue) shot across the lane in front of me, causing me to have to slam on the brakes, causing boxes of donuts to fly from the front seat of the car to the floor. Damage was minimal and we didn't lose a single donut, although there was some collateral damage. I fixed it, as noted above. Merry and happy to you and I look forward to another year of your postings!

I think goodies are even better when they break up! I've got some Xmas tarts that actually fell on the floor! They are yummy down there!

Your words and picture have me recalling your charity work and the good things you and your group do for others... You're blessed to have that calling, Ron. I hope you had a good Christmas! For us, it was entirely about the kids, so it was excellent for us as well :)

@Weezilou Thanks, Louise. I feel that I haven't done sufficient charity work lately. Got an opportunity that would involve photography hopefully. I'll fill you in when we next get together!
