Easter must be on the way! My Get Pushed challenge this week was to take a photo of food. And what better food to capture for the challenge than some Easter goodies?
So much color!! I absolutely love jellybeans but I've never actually tasted Peeps before. But I do have a friend who stuffed tons of Peeps in his mouth...and had a terrible stomach ache later. Seeing Peeps always remind me of that. :P
Peeps! A girl who worked for me years ago would buy cases of Peeps and pull out the purple ones and give the other colors away! This is a super cool shot!
Lovely colourful image Ron! I have never heard of peeps before? The marshmallows we have over here are normally pale pink or white. They are lovely toasted or on hot chocolate! Not sure these colourful versions would work with the hot chocolate.
Wow what an tasty capture full of delicious detail and sweet colours Ron, by the way had to google marshmallow Peeps to see what they are and now I know:)
Peeps!!! Color-overload here. It's great. I'm thinkin' about using jelly beans for my "J" picture today. Gonna have to go BUY some jelly beans first, unless I can come over and borrow yours.
@stray_shooter They sure do qualify as food. I've never heard of Peeps before, but they look wonderful and colourful. Lovely and unusual take on the food. I really like it
ABSOLUTELY *The Best* Peeps photo! and it Screams of Easter Food! @cjphoto Mr Candy Man... I can NOT believe you've never had Peeps! They even last year round and you can put them in the microwave to soften them! @louannwarren I buy "cases" of Peeps to take to friends in Nova Scotia! I know they can get them, we we can get them for a better price! @pamknowler Had I known that I could have given you all the boxes you could want! They're in a large shopping bag in the dining room! @joysfocus Really food you ask?! They're Vegan Chickens and Rabbits!
How funny that there are people in this world who haven't heard of Peeps! There are even contests to design dioramas with Peeps! And books of photos of them! And jokes...
this should come with a warning - colour overload.. had no idea 'Peeps' existed.. thank you, you have increased my store of useless (in UK) knowledge.. not knowing about Peeps i wondered what the 'eyes' were all about.. love the whole thing.. not something i would eat but they do look good here..
@Weezilou - I know right, never had them. I like marshmallows but they're not my favorite thing in the world so that's probably why. I'll try to change that this year. :P
@cjphoto Trust me, I would never shame anyone into eating candy! haha What would happen if you became addicted to them like most people and then I'd be to blame ;-)
@summerfield@terryliv@taffy@cjphoto@louannwarren@naomi@pamknowler@aglennc@dianen@joysfocus@888rachel@tigerdreamer@gilbertwood@rookynook@pcoulson@salza@lyndemc@seacreature@Weezilou@jorlam Apologies for the group reply, but I'm about five days behind and scrambling to get back on track. I have to admit to being quite surprised that so few people knew about Peeps. I had no idea that they were virtually nonexistent outside of North America. They actually have quite a cult following here in the U.S. with special recipes, arrangement contests, microwaving fun (they blow up to about five times their original size) and of course eating contests, among them trying to eat 24 in five minutes. (I've never attempted, but am pretty sure I could kill it.) According to Buzzfeed, the World Record is 25 in 30 seconds. However, even more amazing (or disgusting) is a late update from the Huffington Post that claims that a guy named Megatoad (really, I did NOT make that up) downed 200 in 14 minutes. A mere 5600 calories. I'll let you know when/if I attempt that one.
Fav!
