little wahoo wanted to explore by summerfield

little wahoo wanted to explore

the parkette nearby.

this morning, big flakes of snow were falling on the grass just outside grandmere summerfield's apartment window. little wahoo watched the grass disappear, the snow fast covering it.

"grandmere," she said, "i want to explore."

and grandmere looked at her in wonderment. "eh?"

"i want to feel the snow falling on my face. i want to see what is out there."

"out where?" grandmere asked.

"there!" and she pointed to the road where little wahoo can see cars passing by, the slush splashing onto the pavement.

grandmere wasn't feeling very well but she thought some cold air might do her and little wahoo some good. so they bundled up and when they passed by the coxwell parkette, little wahoo became excited.

"there, grandmere! there!" she pointed out to the wide expanse of snow covered parkette. "i want to explore there."

so grandmere let little wahoo down on a bench. "go ahead and explore, little wahoo."

little wahoo walked on fresh snow. she sat on the snowed over bench. she climbed the bushes with the red branches and she saw her reflection on the little droplets. then she saw that there is a water fountain and she climbed up to drink some water. then she went back and played in the snow.

grandmere reminded her that the last time she played in the snow she got sick. it was a good thing because little wahoo has explored enough of the parkette and she's ready to go back to the apartment. plus, she drank too much water and she needed to use the bathroom.

on the way home, little wahoo saw a portion of the snow on the sidewalk that was of yellow colour. "grandmere, why is that snow different?" she asked.

before grandmere could explain, there showed up from the corner a lady being pulled by two large dogs on their leashes. one of the dogs stopped and peed on the sidewalk.

"that," grandmere told little wahoo, "my dear is why the snow was yellow."

"ewwww!" said little wahoo.

I need to find my own version of little wahoo (not a little wahoo, but something little like her). These stories are so cute I want to write some like them for my granddaughter! This is excellent!
