we came back from the hospital quite late but we managed to drive by the marina to shoot the boats. would've gotten there sooner but got caught in traffic and missed the pretty dollops of dainty clouds against the beautiful blue sky. i could've cranked the ISO more but it wouldn't be the perspective i wanted. i hope you approve.
accompanied partner to the hospital for a battery of tests. then he had colonoscopy and they had to put him out. as soon as the procedure was over, he was awake, talking like his old self, refusing any help, putting socks standing up without holding on to anything, where other patients were sent away in wheelchairs or are groggy, he showed the nurses he could jog the length of the hallway and i had to keep up with the old bugger. nurses' jaws dropped in disbelief. and, get this, insisted on driving and i almost walked out on him. i should have. teach him a lesson that way.
thank you so much, folks, for your kind views and comments, they are much appreciated.
Beautiful harbor shot and glad to hear that all went well at the hospital. Goodness- I wouldn't complain if he felt that good! I'd be thankful. I think people sometimes come out of those procedures worse than when they went in!
@cheribug - thank you, cheryl. partner is in tip-top shape for his 69 years. we were laughing tonight because he was reading the piece of paper they gave him after the surgery and it contained a list of what he shouldn't be doing for the rest of the day, all of which he did in the next two hours after we left the hospital. hahaha!
@summerfield Good!!! always the bad ones that do so well. my boyfriend is 55 had hip replaced on monday eve. came home Thursday and was climbing 14 stairs up and down.. Hasn't slowed him down at all!!!
Great capture Vikki. Nice lighting. I am going for that procedure on Wednesday. Can't say I am looking forward to it. I do have a ride arranged and also am taking the following day off.
@pamfromcalgary - good for you, pam. hope all goes well. partner says it's the most horrible procedure, especially the day long preparation before. but it has to be done to make sure all's good inside. good luck, and yes, it's good to have someone with you. thank you, pam.
He is in wonderful shape and he doesn't want you to worry! Very brave to have a colonoscopy. This shot is beautiful. Love the silhouettes and color. 8)
in comparing all the sailboat shots, i like this one the best. so enjoy reading your narrative about partner - he is so funny. he is going to live a very long life. people like him are hard to keep down - too stubborn and bull-headed. so happy to read he is doing ok.
pretty cool getting this shot every Monday this month. My husband is just like partner but I wouldn't let him drive home after his no matter how much he insisted....
@catsmeowb - thank you, camille. we were joking about yesterday over at supper tonight. i told him it looks like i should stop paying for the damn insurance seeing i would never be able to collect it. he said to just give him the premiums every month! hahaha!
@steeler - thank you, howard. where have you been hiding? :-)
@claireuk - thank you, claire. he is both an ox and a mule. but he could be a dear, too, quite often.
Wonderful shot as well, beautiful tones in the sky =)

@tanja_1211 - thank you, tanja. if we were a bit early i could've gotten a more beautiful shot with the sky's colour. glad you like it.
