quite a busy day at work and didn't have time to think about what i should post tonight. going home, i decided to pass by the city hall where there's a public rink and thought i'd capture some motion. and that's what i got here. people skating to a blurry world as others watched.
Amazing light and colors here, girlfriend! What is that beautiful purple architecture .. a tower? I'd be there alot ... this is a wonderful place for photo-ops. Did you have to use a tripod to capture this? For people like you and me (who don't like wearing gloves to shoot) a tripod in this weather is a total pain! But you nailed this!
@karenann - KA, that's our new city hall. see http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2012-09-19 and http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2012-09-29
i had to use a tripod. i have one underneath my desk at work but didn't bring it. good thing this is right next to a big mall so i had to get to one of those gadget stores and was ready to pay forty dollars for a crappy one. but tonight's my lucky night as i got a $15 lightweight tripod instead as everything was on sale this week. i really wanted something that i can lug around with me sometimes. then i had slush all over my coat afterwards. darn it! thank you, KA.
@tara11 - thank you, tara. i'm so after capturing a photo that captures the essence of canadian Christmas for a Christmas card. so i thought i'd capture ice, skating, and tree.
Beautifully done! I wonder if the string and bolt method would work as well. I have been using that as my tripod lately..very easy to use and carry around too!
