i went to the office to try and catch up with my month-end tasks so i don't cram on monday. i brought my camera (of course!) and my tripod thinking i'll take in the 'nuit blanche' event happening around downtown. roads were closed and there was a lot of heavy traffic and those peeps in their cars aren't happy for sure.
it didn't excite me, i was quite disappointed. it didn't interest me at all. i don't understand the 'modern' arts these days. i can never understand these nouveaux artistes. but it's a chance for the people to have something to do on a cold-ish night and i also thought it would be a great chance to be able to photograph the city hall from an elevated vantage point, which is the ramp that connects the city hall square to the building across the road. normally nobody goes there at night and from the smell of it, i think the homeless people use that ramp in the evening. the poor souls would be displaced tonight as this event is on until sunrise tomorrow.
this is our new city hall building. the fountain-cum-skating rink is still not in operation. the three arches you see in the foreground are part of the fountain/rink and you can see a part of the ramp going across. the building is not lit because it is being used as a large projector screen showing archived photos of the city. the square or park is packed with people.
and that's how my day had been. i hope you like this shot.
Oh Vikki! This is so neat. They show images up on that tall building in the back? And I love the side of the building ..is that something projected on it in this photo? I just thought it was light making it look shiny. And the arches coming out are neat. Just very cool! Fav!
