Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do,
I'm half crazy all for the love of you.
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'd look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two.
- music and lyrics Harry Dacre, 1892
jennifer, the young lady at the office who always brings flowers from her garden, e-mailed me a photo of this plant and asked if i might be interested in shooting it. that triggered this song in my head and it's not going away soon. i learned this song in grade school. our music teacher would teach us new songs and i learned to sing this hearing her only three times.
shot this in our firm library with the sun shining on it against a bare wall. upped the highlight in ribbet. i was going to leave it looking like it's floating but i rather liked the little shadow. i don't know what else to do with this.
it's been hot the last several days and i won't dare venture out after work or during lunch to shoot, although i took the ferry to the islands but didn't disembark and went right back. i didn't want to get another insect bite, as my medication just finished today.
The song is cute and goes perfectly with this shot. I too learned that one in grade school. And I wouldn't do a thing to this shot. It looks great as is.
I found myself singing the song as I looked at your photo - then I really looked at your photo, great shot, love the very white area and the pop of colours in the flowers, such a great daisy shot
for me, this shot is cheerful, yet dramatic. love the placement of the flower pot in the corner of the shot, and you're right about the shadow - just perfect!
my grandmas name was Daisy. so the song is special
