michelle's @momsta challenge for me this week is "I would like you to do a double exposure shot. It should be in camera, using either the "Multiple Exposure" setting in the Shooting Menu (Hoping you have it on the D3100) or "Image Overlay" in the Retouch menu."
good thing the Nikon D3100 has the "image overlay" function.
at lunchtime, i passed by a shop with silhouette cutouts on display and i took a few shots which i thought would go nicely with this challenge. those were the easy parts. the hard part was taking a selfie using the Nikon as it was quite like hell to get the right focus. i needed both photos in camera to be able to perform the function. it took about 20 shots before i could get a decent focus, which by that time i was sick and tired of looking at my face i wanted to slap me silly. i frankly think i'm going mad!
i like the way this came out as it gave a nice definition to the silhouettes of the two figures. the other crap you see are the other silhouettes in the display as well as reflection on the glass from across the street. and myself reflected on the glass.
almost sooc.
tagging this also for the five plus two theme this week "going mad".
thank you, folks, for your kind visits and comments; know that i greatly appreciate your kindness. i know, i know, i'm so waaaay behind on my commenting but i'm trying my darndest!
This is brilliant, considering how you persevered with focusing (your comments about slapping yourself silly did make me chuckle...!) Great selfie and determination not to give up!
Wow! This is wonderful! Love the different layers, it just works so well. Fav! I'm not sure I can do this on my camera but you've inspired me to give it a go if I can.
@northy - yes, i pulled out my T3i last night as it is easier to get a selfie with the vari-angle screen. was very disappointed to realize it doesn't have the overlay or multiple exposure function. i wonder if the higher models have those features. but then again, when else do i get to use the function other than challenges. thank you, m.
