day two of the one week only challenge. today the challenge is high key.
if you're wondering if your shot can be called high key, here's an explanation: With high key photography, multiple powerful sources of lighting are strategically positioned to eliminate harsh shadows from images, giving them a very light and optimistic feel. Components of the image with rich colors stand out and areas with lighter color wash out, almost to a white. High key is an excellent choice for both color and black and white photos. - Corel Discovery Center www.corel.com
i had first aid and CPR training today, so was stuck in a boardroom with dummies and defibrillators and a very exciting trainer, i didn't have time to feel sleepy at all. so my certificates are now renewed and good for the next couple of years. the one thing first-aiders need to learn above all things is call 9-1-1. :-)
I'm going to have a proper go at this once I have the confounded holiday photos out of the way. Only the multiple high powered light sources are worrying me - I usually just have the sun. Anyway, got my own Emergency First Aid at Work certificate today. All I have to do is to remember to dial 999. Oh and there's that CPR thingy .......

Hi Summerfield - love your image and found your explanation interesting. From this it sounds as though you can have highlighted darker areas if you wish - so if they appear as a blip on the other end of the histogram that is OK? That would make so much more sense to why this is used! Thanks again.
