i love clock towers, especially if they are in an old building, and most especially if the clocks still work. like this one at this fire station near the beaches.
this is toronto fire station no. 227, formerly no. 17. the structure was built in 1905, the main structure is a three-storey queen anne structure, has a single bay and the clock tower. it is also known as the 'kew beach fire hall'. it is a designated heritage building.
taken in the rain last sunday morning after breakfast.
Instant fav for me. What a great looking building. Unfortunately we no longer have any of our old fire stations left in Edmonton. The best we have is a replica of one in Fort Edmonton Park
I love old clock towers too- the one on our church was just given a new paint job and had its innerds dusted and cleaned. It looks great. And so does this one. I love this kind of architecture- and not just because it has a great name. It's very stately and regal. Nice shot!
