the sky made an appearance at midday. i was shooting a pair of men washing windows on the high rise facing my boss' office but seeing this building, four blocks away from my building, how those three floors are unoccupied, just got me curious. so i changed to the bigger kit lens so i could zoom in more. my eyes are bad, but yup, four floors of emptiness.
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian. it is an old building actually, about 10 floors, then they added this new one but retaining the old building.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. i used the bigger lens to zoom in on the building. it is quite amazing and scary at the same time that one can actually look in either with a telescope or telephone lens and invade other people's privacy.
This is a lovely building, it almost looks commercial/residential mixed. I am so impressed you take all you lens everywhere with you; maybe this is why you get such good shots.................note to self should take my full kit out more:0)
@claireuk - you are bang on - the ground floor, originally a bank in the early 20th century, is now a fine dining restaurant. the upper floors of the original building is a suite/hotel type and the upper floors of the new addition are private condos. i do carry my kit lenses with me plus my 50mm, spare battery, and charger. those bloody things are so heavy together. i won't switch lenses though if i'm out on the street, i make do with what i got on. when partner drives me around, i make the switch in the car. tripod? i have one at the office, one at home, a medium one in my bag and a light one for when i go out alone. am i a real photographer? no, i'm just OCD! hahaha! thanks, luv!
I really like the colors and shadows of this and your composition with half building half sky is intriguing. I looked at your other pix of this building and they are quite nice also, but I have to say this is my favorite, well done, fav
