the last two weeks i've been taking photos and noticed that where there was a direct light source, i would get a really cool starburst effect. and with the one or two photos i've posted with starbursts i've gotten kudos from some of you. but when i use my other camera, i can't get the same effect. so i figured it's the way i would hold the new camera to the light source that resulted in the starburst effect.
this morning, i set about changing lenses and i noticed the filter attached to the lens i've been using had the word 'star' printed on it. the filter was one of the freebies from the store when i got the bundle. gheez, i thought all this while i was getting good at this craft.
i had posted a photo of this lighthouse in my first year album: http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2011-07-18
looking at the old post and this new one, i think i could at least safely say, i am a tad better now.
severely cropped to bring forth the lighthouse; i cloned out the nearest light standard because it was quite distracting, and forgot to finish it off.
@henrir - thank you, henri. this is now mostly decorative, it is no longer used as an actual lighthouse. also this is just now a replica of the original which i think burned down sometime in the 50's.
