but i've put together a portfolio that i will bring to the flower shop tomorrow. these are some of the 25 photos included in the portfolio.
i found an artist's portfolio ring binder at an arts supplies store uptown. lucky for me, i had 55 photos that i was going to have printed at the local printer. the regular price was $5 plus taxes. i was going to bite the price but they just happen to have a sale and it cost me $1 for the 8x10 prints. took me all of my lunch hour to upload the darn images and modify the shades and colours in their computer. then i had to hop on the train to get the portfolio. went back to the office to face more work.
but i got it done, i actually did two. the portfolio cost me $35 but there was a cheaper non-ring binder for just $7. i plan to use that as a back up.
i found a very helpful article/blog by alain briot about putting together a portfolio for photographers. i enjoyed reading it and have taken his advice to heart. in case anyone would have to put a portfolio together in the very near future, here's the link: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/columns/portfolio-8.shtml
thank you, kind folks, for your kind visits and comments; they are so much appreciated. but of course you know that. i shall catch up with your albums tomorrow as well as give you an update of this daunting venture!
very cool! can't wait to hear how it goes... i'm going to bookmark that article, but i think it will be some time before i have the time and mind-energy to think about putting a portfolio together :)
Thanks for that address, I have bookmarked it! I hope you have enjoyed this journey through the best of your photos and are happy with the result! Good luck!
Wonderful!! So excited for you......this could be the beginning of something really big!! Thanks for the link, too....I will definitely bookmark it for future reference, just in case the opportunity comes up. I already have three portfolios of architectural work, so I will just keep adding on to that!! I really, really hope they pick your work.....you definitely have your own style, and I think that's what matters the most! And, also, in case you ever need to print anything more, AdoramaPix occasionally has print specials, and so does Shutterfly....both good companies.
