twins

these are my kokeshi dolls that had been sitting on my worktable for months now. the one in pink kimono is nobuko-san who had been featured in two posts in january. she is katsuko or katy's mother. the one in blue kimono is tamiko-san.

get-pushed #137 - inspiration from the home feed

i wanted a shot that more or less looked like @northy 's post http://365project.org/northy/365/2015-03-10

well, as you can see, mine is an epic fail. i have a lot of rice to eat to even be near her calibre. what was i thinking! in any case, i'm still tagging this for my get-pushed as @northy is always an inspiration. btw, while that shot of northy's is a double exposure, mine isn't.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
@ounooi - marelize, here's my second and final response. thankfully, you said "produce my own interpretation" :-)

I have some gorgeous japanese figures too given to me by my son's japanese family. They are kept in a safe place. Tamiko-san is very shy, I can see that and Katsuko needs to come out more! A really skilful photo!

So is this a double exposure as well or is this a single shot? Either way it's fabulous! I love the low POV and the Low-key effect!

I really like the lighting and the low key effect.

@grammyn - no, it's not a double exposure, just placed the pink doll a bit aways from the light. thank you, katy.

Superb low key and subject

I wouldn't call this an EPIC fail. No, it does not look like Northy's but your subject matter is completely different from hers. Her chess pieces are translucent plastic (I think) and you're dealing with wooden dolls. Of course they're going to look different!!

I love your interpretation of @northy's shot for your challenge. The story and the subtext is delightful!
