remnants of a nasty divorce this blue willow tray-cum-platter. fortunately, not mine. the divorce, i mean. it's my sister's. her ex-husband loved blue willow and he bought quite a few good pieces during their marriage. with her money as he never held a job that earned more than the rent of the home they were in. one day my sister has had enough paying for debts not her own so she left him. and she took everything that she paid for. still, he left her with a lot of credit card payments. then she gave me this tray/platter and a big vase that i now use for my umbrellas. i want to get rid of them. in fact, i want to get rid of a lot of stuff in my apartment. i can't take them to the grave anyway.
for the friday f-word weekly challenge. the word this week is "faience" a french word meaning poterie recouverte d'émail ou de vernis. synonyme: céramique. en anglais: earthenware. origin of the word is pottery from Faenza in northern Italy.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Love blue willow myself but a firm believer in giving away things that only carry bad memories with them anyway. Let them go and bless yourself with the freedom and space.
Divorce is such a sad affair. Although for your sister it seems that it was a good thing. I agree with Dixie, give away things that hold bad or negative vibes.
