a patch of sun drenched tulips by summerfield

a patch of sun drenched tulips

i was reading a book and got so lost in it i forgot to post. i even forgot to eat a proper dinner. a really good book can do that to you. lately i have become a slacker and would read from my tablet. today's book is an actual book, made of paper, and you have to exert some effort to open the pages, and bookmark the page with a decent bookmark so you can go back to it if for some reason you have to put it down and do something else.

but at lunchtime, i didn't have the book yet. partner called to tell me about these large planters outside a building near the office. he is partial to pink flowers so he wanted me to shoot these. with the mid-day sun on these babies, they looked like they're glowing, the petals so soft and delicate. there was a bit of wind so i had to be a tad patient for that one-second break when these babies were still. camera didn't fail me this time.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
I think it's called "recovering" and what was this all absorbing tome? Oh and the tulips are spectacular.

@francoise - the bridges of madison county. today it's "this side of paradise'. funny how i've missed that one when i used to read a lot. maybe i had but can't remember. tomorrow it will be 'likeness'. i have three more lined up but one of them will be a re-read - gatsby.

@grammyn - you know when i first met him, he was wearing a coral sweater over a pink shirt. i really thought he was gay and after meeting him a few times, i really dared ask him and the people we mixed with at the time were so appalled at my frankness. his answer was, yes, he is very happy! over the years when we were trimming down our closets at the farm, he was so sad to let the ensemble go, he said that was his talisman over me!

What lovely pink with a hint of white tulips. I used to read a lot but now it can take me months to finish a book.

This is just so beautiful! I woudl happily hang it on my wall! I cannot imagine life without books. I always have a book available to get lost in. At one stage y hubby and I used to tease that we needed a books anonymous as we couldn't walk past a book shop without going in to buy at least one book!

@summerfield Well if something had to go he was wise to let the ensemble go and keep you!

Absolutely wonderful capture of these sun drenched tulips, and another FAV for that wonderful story!! And, that's another one of the reasons I like you so much....I have been known to ask some men which way they lean...I have even asked them if they were bisexual just so as to cover all the bases.... ;-)) Glad he picked you over the pink ensemble...
