hawthorn strainer by summerfield

hawthorn strainer

this week, i am digging in my kitchen drawers to find something to photograph artistically. hah! i'm a sucker for punishment, aren't i? so i dig and first thing i find is my hawthorn strainer.

what's a hawthorn strainer, you ask? it is used to strain the ice off a shaken drink like a martini. it is used with the boston shaker, if you have one. which i do, because they're remnants from when i took that hospitality management course in the late 90's. i should try and make a martini one of these days.

i have managed to convince sally @salza and bill @bill_fe to join me in this undertaking. join in if your phojo wants some polishing. :-)

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
Well I have never heard of a hawthorn strainer. They say that you learn something new everyday. I love the low key effect.

@salza - how do you do it? it's hard to be creative with these things! i must've shot 50 before i came to this. :-) thank you, sally.

ok, I'm in. But first off to work one last time (before the holiday really starts) I feel enlightened, btw, having seen these and never known what they were!

Super low key shot. I knew what this was, but didn't know it's name.
