aortic explosion

this week promises to be a ho-hum as i try to do this water and ink shots. i really really really suck at this. i did water and oil shots: fail! i did water, oil and dish soap: major fail! and this food colour and ink: epic fail! to top it all, the mess is, well, messy. i did my best to blot the 2mm oil i poured on top of the water as i hate pouring it in the drain. and i have to do this blasted thing for the whole seven days. i just hope i would think of an iconic image at the end of the week to reduce my suffering to six days. my back up plan was a whole week of self portrait in different coloured dresses. maybe i should have stuck to that.

well, in any case, you're excused to skip me this week -- a week of suckie shots and i wouldn't blame you.

i should stop trying things i'm not good at.
Good on you for trying something new! i tried photographing smoke yesterday and it was a complete fail. We’ll keep trying!

@deekjames - d, smoke is easy for me. if only that darn smoke detector doesn't go off every time, i'd be shooting smoke every day! thanks.

Love the title and the explosion. I am trying to make frames, which is driving me insane too ;-)

Ohhh dear - a very dramatic caption. :) But that's OK - it's a dramatic shot. Are we going to see a row of colours - that should be ripper fun!!

fun title - I remember the mess of this when I did it before. I did get some interesting shots, but not enough to think it was worth doing more than the once or twice I tried. I think I had to set the camera up with the timer on, then dripped in the food colouring. I haven't tried oil and water, yet. But the other one I tried was water and glycerine droplets on a plastic sheet over coloured backgrounds. (And for green, a gin and tonic with a lime slice, focussing on the bubbles)

This is cool. I actually thought it was some kind of jumbled up jellyfish. Ha!

Great title, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the rest of the week Vikki :)

You should not stop trying things you’re not good at. That’s how you make yourself grow . Looking at a week of selfies of you would be fantastic but I like this one a lot. Keep up the good work. FAV

Oh my you have set out quite a challenge for yourself. I hope it gets easier as you get more familiar with the substances.

Aptly titled.

Did you push the panic button?

I'm sorry to say it, but I was just a little bit pleased when I read your script. I was all set to do similar things next week in my rainbow having seen some amazing oil and water shots on here. I had a go at it at the weekend and the results were appalling. I mean, really appalling. It will be interesting to see how your shots develop over the week.
