my boss and his wife gifted me with an amazon gift card for Christmas. now, i've been meaning to buy an 18-200 lens for my second 60D because it came with an 85mm lens when i bought it a couple of years back. the old 60D has been in service since 2013 and it has topped its shutter actuation already. the 18-200 lens that i got for it has some serious wear and tear and doesn't function right whenever i use it on the newer 60D. also, i am more comfortable using the 60D in manual mode so when i do serious outdoors shooting it's my camera of choice. but i like the flexibility of shooting wide or long using just one lens instead of changing lens, so i bought the new lens for the newer 60D. i call it 'newer' because it's supposed to be a third or fourth generation 60D, according to the invoice; it also works a bit differently than the older 60D.
whenever i receive a gift card, i like to 'spend' it wisely. spending it towards the cost of the new and more practical lens for the (newer) camera seems to be the most sensible way. now i'm all set, but nowhere to go! 🤣 i might have to bother the northster again to go photo-ing.
fabulous subject for this black on black photo. I did not understand one word of what you said because my camera is a bridge camera and I know nothing at all about lenses. I am content to let the camera do it for me.
Congratulations on your new gift. I have an 18-200 lens for my Sony A6300. It's my go to lens. I have a 70-300 lens for my Canon Rebel T2, which is a similar model, although probably older, to yours. I use it most on that camera because I like the longer lens.
Looking forward to seeing some shots with it.
