The Rock Cut by sunnygreenwood

The Rock Cut

I was headed out for a walk with some friends and snapped this pic en route to the meeting point. We had a light snow fall overnight and it was pretty --- dark and dull but pretty, the kind of day where you get b&w shots whether you want them or not.

Many thanks for dropping by.
The road to nowhere. Looks so peaceful. Hope you had a gret walk

Looks like a long walk to get anywhere, nice wintery shot :)

It's bizarre that you have snow and we are having a scorching summer. I have never been in snow but one day.....until then I can just admire your photos.

Wow, snow already! It looks pretty and this composition looks like a large snowflake with the radiating lines.

That'as beautiful Anne! We can expect the same by tomorrow morning, It's 14deg C or 57 deg F right now, so I have a difficult time believing that there'll be snow.

This looks gorgeous, almost magical. It "snows" in Houston from time to time, but almost never stays more than a few hours, so I still have a child's appreciation of it. I'm sure it was a beautiful walk.

I think this photo is unique and very interesting. I think of Stephen King getting hit by a car while walking on a similar road years ago. This road looks just like that road in Maine, fading off in the distance. Where you live is much like where I live too.

I see why it caught your eye. It is lovely

Love your perspective. Beautiful shot. Hope you weren't driving at the time. Wow, you actually got the pic without other cars on the road.

Very pretty shot. Hope it wasn't too cold for your walk. I love being outside in the winter if the wind's not blowing. I'm sure the light snow put a bit of sparkle into your morning.

Cool POV. Looks like you need to stay vigilant for ice.

You've made a dull day seem pretty!

Beautiful POV, Anne. Loved you comment about B&W . . sometimes they're the best. And this one is fabulous!
December 7th, 2011
Cool shot and perspective. I too liked your comment about B&W, it is that time of year.

Lovely winter shot...makes me think of traveling up north many years ago and really getting into the holiday spirit. Beautifully done.

I might be heading to the cottage this weekend - this road looks like it could be on my travels!
December 8th, 2011
there's rumors that we might get some of this white stuff tonight!
December 8th, 2011
This is so beautiful, Anne! The trees and rocks look like like they've been sprinkled with sugar. We got our first snow today, but it melted away quickly.
December 8th, 2011
This looks just beautiful. Leads me right in.
December 8th, 2011
Wow! I thought this was a B&W shot with selective colouring, but I see it's not! I like this a lot, especially the way you placed the apex of the road slightly off centre. A GREAT shot, Anne!

awesome Anne! love the yellow line :)
December 8th, 2011
I love this shot--a fav. The muted gray-day colors are great, especially when compared to the yellow lines. I also like the disappearing lines and road.
December 8th, 2011
Those yellow lines just add the perfect touch to this shot! Very nice!
