The Melt Is On! by sunnygreenwood

The Melt Is On!

Still celebrating the appearance of the sun so no bird shot for you today! I liked the sunlight on the icicles and took a couple of pics. Before I had time to check them out on the computer, the icicles had melted. I'm glad there's some melting going on, just a little sorry I didn't get a drip in the pic. ;-)

Many thanks for dropping by. I've been busy the past couple of days --- hoping to catch up on all your lovely pics later tonight.
Nothing sparkles like icicles in the sunlight. Nice capture. I don';t blame you for being happy to see the sun.

Cool shot, we have no snow (or ice) to photograph in Toronto, has been the mildest and least precipitation I can remember for a winter here.

I love the sparkle and the composition, great work!

great reflections and sparkle... snowing here now but no icicles here this year yet...warm winter for the most part in Maryland..

Love your icicles! I tried to get some decent ones this winter, but none of them passed the test . . so it was delete, delete. Nice angle that you have here and love the touch of blue sky!

I love the reflections on the roofline behind the icicles. Cool shot! I am glad that some of it is melting, though, for your sake!

The combination of the deep blue sky with the sun on the icicles is just perfect! I love the way the sun is hitting the icicles!

They are truly beautiful, with or without without the drip. I love how you caught the sparkles in the sunshine! It must have been a brighter day up your way than here.

Love how you caught the sparkle!

great capture of the sunshine reflecting on the icicles! Thanks for checking out my 'lessons'. For me it's easy to understand all the technical stuff, the creative process is far more challenging.

I haven't seen icicles in decades...this brought back memories. Lovely shot, Anne.

I love the light shining through the icicles. Nice!

Great shot, I like the light going throught the icicles too.
February 9th, 2012
Well if you stand there long enough (be sure to put on some warm clothing) you are bound to capture at least one drip

They look so pretty with the sunlight on them!!! Beautiful capture, Anne!

Oh Anne, I love how the light reflecting through those icicles made horizontal light icicles. This brings such happy childhood memories of breaking off an icicle to suck on like a lollipop. As an adult, I'm not sure that was such a healthy thing to do.

Very cool. I have not seen any of these around here this year

I've never seen these in person! Love the light reflecting through the ice!
