Great bird shot as always. Love the detail and colour that you capture. I know they come to your deck, is that very near your windows, they seem to come in very near.
@jennywren aww, thanks Jen! Yes, the deck is attached to the house. Other years, i've been able to get some pics while standing on the deck but i haven't been able to do that very much this year. Most of this winter's bird shots have been taken through a window.
@digitalrn Thanks for your support Rick! They just crack them the same way they would a sunflower seed casing. I've read that they will try to carry away two at a time but I haven't seen that yet.
I can't believe you get such clear photos through the window. You must have very clean windows. I'm loving your bluejay and peanut photos! They are so up close and personal. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my Rock Harbor boats, both in June and yesterday! Your support and friendship means so much to me.
Fantastic Capture! That is a great action shot, Anne! Years ago, the kids would string peanuts and popcorn on a line and hang it near the feeder. Lots of fun to watch! You have a great touch for capturing the birds!
@paulaag thanks paula! they crack them and just eat the seeds inside. i read where sometimes you have to "teach" the birds that there are seeds inside by leaving them cracked open, but not the jays around here! The very first time I put them out, they disappeared in a few minutes.
He's so pretty! There is a guy who runs by my house every day throwing peanuts for the squirrels...so I have shells all over my yard but the animals/birds love it!
@digitalrn Thanks for your support Rick! They just crack them the same way they would a sunflower seed casing. I've read that they will try to carry away two at a time but I haven't seen that yet.
