I've been saving £2 coins in my cupcake moneybox for ages for an 'extra' holiday with a friend next year. Well, the cupcake was completely full so I emptied it today and was absolutely gobsmacked to find £496.00 in it. This should easily cover the air fare. The holiday is in February 2015. I'll tell you more about it then.
Fantastic...... My best friend gave me a money pot for my 'special' birthday earlier this year which you put £2 coins in........ only to be broken into when full. It should then hold £1000 which she hopes I will use to go on a holiday with..........
@dizzyd What an absolutely brilliant present. There don't seem to be a lot of £2 coins in circulation, probably because of people like you and me keeping them in our moneyboxes.
Wow! I must take the pile of change that I've collected to the machine that sorts it, adds it up and gives you the real deal!...I'll let you know what I've got!
That really proves the mantra that my mum keeps banging on about - if you just put a little by at a time, it's amazing how it mounts up. Well done you!
@yogisue@squaresparrow@craig3f2 I've just discovered that quite a lot of my coins are special editions and are worth more than their face value, between £2 and £5. Now I'm on a mission to find out how and to whom I can sell these coins.
