In June 2016 we made a decision that Man vs Horse 2017 (an annual event here) would be our very last B&B weekend after which we would put Kilsby on the market.
For those who don't know, Man vs Horse is a 22 mile marathon in the hills around here in which runners compete against horses (and riders!). Usually the horse wins but twice in the 35 year history of the race a runner has won.
We always have the same group of people staying, with a few variations each year. This year we had 15!! This photo is of Chris and me with the runners, before the event. As you can see it was raining. In fact it rained all day but no-one's spirits were dampened. Some of the runners did the whole distance, others were part of relay teams.

@chimfa Thank you Jane. Yes you're right, we do feel a mixture of sadness and excitement. Doing B&B is hard work though and such a tie. I won't miss that.
@happysnaps Thank you Valerie. All is going well at the moment so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
@nickspicsnz Yes I think they will. The people buying the house will continue with the business but many of our guests who have been coming here for a long time, including this bunch, aren't keen to come back if we're not here. They'd rather stay somewhere else.
