Upper Teesdale by susiemc

Upper Teesdale

South of the river, on the left, are the Yorkshire Dales. North of the river, on the right, are the Durham Dales. We were quite high up here and pulled into a lay-by to let someone pass so that we could take in the surroundings. It was cold and windy but the sun was shining and the views were stunning. We felt as if we were on top of the world.
A wonderful rural landscape !

A view that goes on forever. From this picture, it would appear that the Durham Dales are more rolling and hilly than the Yorkshire Dales but maybe it's just the particular location you took the shot from.

@gardencat I think it could be because of where I took the shot. Also it looks to me as if the river doesn’t run down the middle of the valley, it’s more on the Durham side.
