I'm tempted to say that this is one of my favourite roses but each one is 'one of my favourites' which is why I chose them. Most of them are hybrid tea roses, I know they're not very fashionable these days but I love the form of the flower. Also my Dad grew this kind of rose and they remind me of our garden when I was growing up.
A gorgeous capture, Sue! A beautiful colour and lovely light and shadows playing on the petals! I know what you mean about Dads and their gardens. My Dad was especially proud of his begonias, which he stored over the winter. So begonias always remind me of my Dad and his garden. (He had roses and lots of other flowers too :-) Fav
My dad grew hybrid tea roses in his garden when I was growing up too. We lived in Montreal, where the winters are pretty hard on roses, and every fall we covered the roses up to protect them from the freeze. Every spring we watched with bated breath to see if we had lost any of them and often we did lose one or two. Hybrid teas are not the hardiest of roses but they do have some of the most lovely bloom shapes. ( I have a photo from a similar POV to post in one of my albums later tonight).
